HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN IBU DENGAN PRAKTIK PEMBERIAN IMUNISASI MMR (MEASLE, MUMPS, RUBELLA) DI KECAMATAN WATES KULON PROGO

Background: A way to make the body immune to infections is to make it familiar with microorganism through vaccination. The immunity existing in one’s body will last long and it may last for the whole life. The level of mothers’ knowledge of immunization will give impacts on the practice of giving the immunization. Objective: To investigate the relationship between the level of mothers’ knowledge of the MMR immunization and the practice of giving the MMR immunization to children and to know the practice of giving the MMR immunization in Wates District.Method: The study employed an analytic descriptive design using the cross sectional approach. The research population comprised mothers having children aged 15 months to 6 years with a total of 60 mothers. 38 mothers then were selected as the research samples through purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using the chi-square.Result: Statistical calculation resulted in p 0.002.Conclusion: There was a relationship between the level of mothers’ knowledge of the MMR immunization and the practice of giving the MMR vaccination to children in Wates District.
