PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN TENTANG BAHAYA NARKOBA PADA REMAJA DI SMA N 1 TURI YOGYAKARTA

Background: The National Narcotics Agency (2009) concluded that the prevalence of drug abuse among high school and university students are 4,7% or about 921,695 person. Generally, adolescents are involved in drug abuse not only
because of their friends, but also the absence of knowledge about the harmful effect of drug on health (Hawari, 2002).
Objective: To investigate the influence of health education on the level of knowledge regarding the harm of drugs in adolescents in SMA N 1 Turi Yogyakarta. Methods: The research used One Group Pre test and Post Test Design. The samples, by using simple random sampling technique, were the second grade students in SMA N 1 Turi Yogyakarta who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria as many as 83 adolescents. The data were then analyzed by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test.
Results: Thelevel of knowledge regarding the harms of drugs in students SMA N
1 Turi Yogyakarta before obtaining health education regarding harms of drugs are
as follows: Good (0%), Sufficient (4,8%), and poor (95.2%), and the level of
knowledge after obtaining health education about the harms of drugs are: Good
(6,0%), Sufficient (50,6%), and poor (43,4%). Test results of Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test is (z=-6,401, P=,000), which means that there is a significant
differences in level of knowledge of adolescents regarding the harms of drugs before and after regarding health education.
Conclusion: Health education has influences on the level of knowledge regarding
the harms of drugs in adolescents SMA N 1 Turi Yogyakarta.
